Los Angeles, CA – Albert Torres Productions, Inc. Is proud to present The 13th Annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress & Bachata Room hosted by Island Touch with over 25 million hits on you tube under their artistic names, Ataca Y La Alemana. This event is held over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-30, 2011. Due to the enormous demand to be part of the new L.A. this year’s four-day event of Salsa music and dancing has moved to the newly renovated Westin Bonaventure located at 404 S Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA. The Los Angeles Salsa Congress is the ultimate Salsa experience containing a stage for live dance performances and concerts, pool parties with international DJ’s, general public dancing every evening till 4am and vendor booths with plenty of Salsa lifestyle products for music lovers of all ages.
The Los Angeles Salsa Congress every year is dedicated to “Creating Unity through Salsa”, an annual event for people of all ages and cultures to enjoy the common ground of the art of Salsa music and dance. Thousands of Salsa dancers and spectators will travel to Los Angeles from countries such as Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Holland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Italy France, Greece, Israel, Dubai, Lebanon, Japan, China, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Norway, South Korea, United Kingdom, New Zealand, El Salvador, Peru, Singapore, Colombia and Venezuela in addition to attendees from over 200 U.S. cities.
Every year The Los Angeles Salsa Congress has attracted thousands of attendees from around the World over the four days and has honored celebrities and politicians including Andy Garcia, Tito Puente, Cachao, Jan Perry, Nate Holden, Jimmy Smitts, Edward James Olmos, Nicholas Gonzales and Eva Longoria.
The 13th Annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress & Bachata Room will have a Pre Congress party on Thursday May 26, 2011, beginning at 8pm at The Mayan located at 1038 South Hill St. The event will then move to the Westin Bonaventure where we will feature daily workshops for beginners, intermediates and pros beginning on Friday May 27 from 9am to 4pm. Pool party from noon to 5pm. Afternoon shows from 4:30-5:30 and the evening doors open at 7pm. At 7:30pm-8:30pm, we will host the qualifiers (competition) for The World Latin Dance Cup as seen on ESPN, to beheld December 14-17, 2011 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. At 8:30pm each evening we highlight some of the best Salsa / Bachata dancers in the World. These dancers of all ages will mesmerize you each evening. Different shows every night. After the shows there will be a combination of Live Music and International DJ’s till 4am.
This year the bands are on Thursday, Chino Espinoza Y Los Duenos Del Son at The Mayan located at 1038 South Hill St. On Friday, Victor Manuelle (El Sonero De La Juventud) & His Full Orchestra From Puerto Rico will be performing at The Westin Bonaventure. On Saturday, performing on the West Coast for the first time, Grupo Latin Vibe from New York. On Sunday, Two Concerts, for the first time at a Salsa Congress one of the most requested Bachata bands, XTREME and the second concert to close this holiday weekend, from Puerto Rico the voice of the millennium, Choco Orta backed by the hottest West Coast Salsa Band, Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad.
With attendance up over 30% this year’s congress is expected to bring over 8,000 dancers and Salsa fans from around the world to travel to Los Angeles to dance and celebrate with thousands of southland locals. In addition to nightly dance and music performances, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy 74 workshops and music history seminars on Salsa music and dance.

How to Drink More Water!!!!
Drinking lots of water every day is a wonderful way to honor and care for your body. It flushes away all of the stress, lactic acid, and toxins that you release as you get into playing in your body through Dance.
Drinking enough water during the day helps:
Give your body what it needs–lots of yummy water!
But how much water exactly?
Here I will refer to nutrition expert, Isabel De Los Rios, the author of The Diet Solution Program, who breaks down the amount of water you need to drink every day into a simple math formula:
So a 140 pound person (140 divided by 2), should drink 70 ounces of water.
If there are 8 ounces in a glass–that's about 9 glasses of water to drink every day!
Now–that's a lot of water!

Tips to Lose Weight by Dancing
The words that we have been trained to think about having an ideal weight and a healthy good feeling body, is to use the catch phrase “To Lose Weight.”
And we use the phrase “To Lose Weight” to sum up everything that we want to experience—and that's feeling hot, sexy, alive, confident, comfortable, and alive in our bodies.
So, instead of focusing on the catch-all phrase of “Losing Weight,” what I want to focus on is stepping into the feeling of a special word I made up called BodyJoy.
Being in BodyJoy is a very child-like state when your body mind, and spirit are deeply connected. When you are fully IN your body and not conscious of your body—all at the same time.
Little kids are in BodyJoy most of the time—you can see them dance everywhere and express their emotion using their entire body.
Focusing on getting into a state of being in Body Joy is your key to losing weight, loving and appreciating your body, and feeling really GOOD in your body.
And as women we have a wonderful way to get into BodyJoy—and that is through the pleasure center of our HIPS!
Our hips surround our core muscles—where all of our movement comes from—it's the center of our power, our pleasure, our movement.
And you can get straight into BODYJOY by scheduling time to love and appreciate your body through Dancing in the Mirror.

Summer Day Camps for Kids.
We are fans of summer camps experiences for children.
This is not surprising because research shows that 90 per cent of people who went to day camps will also send their children. Being that my husband and I were childhood campers and counsellors, you can bet our kids are going also.
We would also like to add that camping helps children to develop skills in becoming capable adults. In the book, But Nobody Told Me I'd Ever Have to Leave Home, it says: "summer camp is a golden opportunity for our children to develop independence. Camp is great because it's designed to meet the developmental needs of your children, with challenges and opportunities appropriate to their age."
Great camps help develop great kids.
